Eduardo (Lalo) and Michelle Diez and Ezra

Eduardo (Lalo) was born in the city of Cosamaloapan, Veracruz and later moved to Tuxtepec, Oaxaca where his family still lives today.
     At the age of 14, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior while attending his uncle’s church and was baptized.
     Very soon after his conversion, Lalo felt a strong desire to further his Biblical education through a Bible Institute but he wasn’t able to find one that he could afford.  But soon, the Lord opened doors when Lalo’s uncle met some American missionaries who had a Bible Institute/Missionary Training Center near the city of Cadereyta, Nuevo León run by Dayspring Outreach Ministries.  The training center was free to Mexicans and taught “hands on ministry” and missions.
     After seven months of classes and training in Dayspring's DMT program, Lalo graduated and entered into full-time ministry with Dayspring as one of their indigenous missionaries.  He has been on the DMT staff and helped with outreach and helped pioneer the island ministry work and currently serves as pastor  on the island and area leader.

      Michelle  grew up in Christian family in Bremen, IN.  At 25, she rededicated her life to following Christ and was baptized.  Shortly after that she felt a call to ministry but was not sure where she was being called to serve.  In July of 2008, Michelle signed up for a short term mission trip with Dayspring in Mexico with some of the young adults in her church.  While she was on this trip, she felt God calling her back for the 7 month DMT training.  During this training, Michelle learned more about God’s love and provision. She returned to Mexico to help mentor the incoming DMT students and share with others the hope and love we can all find in Christ.
     Michelle and Lalo met while working together with the DMT students on outreach to the island, Isla del Viejo.  They were married on January 8, 2011 and make their home on the island working with the Mazotecan Indians. They have one child, Ezra who was born in Tuxtepec, Oaxaca.
